EFFINGHAM COUNTY PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

We received funds in Effingham County to offer rides for seniors, persons with disabilities, and veterans on both in-county demand response and the ETrax Deviated Route.  Due to this, we will now be requiring applications for reduced fare cards in all our counties to verify eligibility.

 

This will take effect on May 1, 2024.

Currently serving Effingham County.  All vehicles are wheelchair accessible and ADA compliant.

​

The goal of Central Illinois Public Transit Program is to provide reliable and timely transportation to residents of each county we serve by ensuring punctuality, accessibility, courtesy, cleanliness, serviceability, and safety at all times to our riders.

​

Riders are encouraged to schedule trips at least one working day in advance (same day service is available if space permits) and need to be ready for pick-up 15 minutes prior to the scheduled pick-up time.  Cancellations must be made at least two hours prior to pick-up time.

​

Service is unavailable on New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Service is limited on MLK Day, President's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, and the day after Thanksgiving.

CASH FARE STRUCTURE

In County

  • $3 per one-way trip, $6 per round trip

  • Children 0-5 ride free with paying adult

  • Children 6-12 are $2 per one-way trip, $4 per round trip

  • Seniors ride for a suggested donation (Need to apply for a Reduced Fare ID Card.)

Monthly Pass

  • Monthly Pass is $35

  • Monthly Pass for a person with a disability is $15 (Need to apply for a Reduced Fare ID Card.)

​

Discount Tickets:  Book of 10 tickets is $20 (no expiration date)

​

All pass purchases are non-refundable.​

​

Out of county trips $1 per mile as availability allows. Medicaid, Modivcare, and MTM payments for medical trips are accepted.

Support for the Central Illinois Public Transit Program comes from the IL Department of Transportation, Area Agency on Aging for Lincolnland, Midland Area Agency on Aging, and the IL Department of Human Services, Bureau of Title XX.  Alternative formats of material are available upon request.
