C.E.F.S. Outreach Program is hiring for the following position: 

​​Outreach Resource Specialists

Location/s: Taylor Springs, IL (Montgomery County) and Vandalia, IL (Fayette County)

Description: As part of the Outreach team, this position will assist with waiting room activities, including answering phones and greeting customers, scheduling, and office maintenance. The Resource Specialist is instrumental in running the food pantry, which includes stocking shelves, preparing food boxes, unloading food deliveries, and maintaining food pantry records. This position may work directly with customers, under the guidance of other Outreach staff in defined areas, including information and referrals, benefit enrollment, and assistance with the tax program. Associate degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is required. Position is Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Must meet pre-employment requirements. Hourly wage: $15.53/hr.​

C.E.F.S. Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act Program is hiring for the following position: 

​​Career Planner

Location/s: Centralia, IL

Description: The C.E.F.S. Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Program (WIOA) is currently hiring for the position of a full-time Career Planner for the Centralia office. This position is responsible for implementing the Adult, Youth, Dislocated Workers, and TAA programs, which include eligibility, assessment,  career counseling, and caseload management. Computer, Microsoft Office, and data entry skills are needed. An associate’s degree preferred or experience that has led to the requisite skills and knowledge needed to perform job duties may be considered; a high school diploma or GED is required. Position is Monday through Friday, 8:30 am-4:30 pm. Must meet pre-employment requirements. Hourly wage: $17.87/hr.

C.E.F.S. Head Start Program is hiring for the following positions: 

​​​​Lead Teachers

Location/s: Effingham Center

Description:  School year positions, 40 hrs./wk. M-F. A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field with equivalent credit hours to a major in Early Childhood Education is required. Must hold a Professional Educator License (PEL) with an early childhood education endorsement or have a Gateway ECE Credential Level 5 while pursuing a PEL. Must be at least 21. Hourly wage: $26.85.​​​​​​​

Location/s: Vandalia Center

Description: School year position, 40 hrs./wk. M-F. Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field with equivalent credit hours to a major in Early Childhood Education and one year experience teaching preschool children preferred, Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with equivalent credit hours to a major in Early Childhood Education and one year experience teaching preschool children required. Must be at least 21. Hourly wage: $21.11.​

Bus Monitor

Location/s: Vandalia Center

Description: School year position, 40-hrs./wk. M-F. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be at least 18. Hourly wage: $15.50.​​

Parent Educator

Location/s: Christian County / Taylorville area

Description: Full-time, full-year position, 40-hrs./wk. M-F. Minimum of a home-based CDA credential or comparable credential or equivalent coursework as part of an associate or bachelor’s degree (120 clock hours with at least 10 clock hours in each of the 8 CDA component areas) and 480 hours experience working with children aged 0-3 years old and obtain a home visitor CDA within 3 months of hire. Hourly wage: $20.31.

Family Advocate

Location/s: Christian County

Description: Full-time, full year position, 40 hrs./wk. M-F. Covering Christian County. Location of home office will be determined by residence of person hired. Associates degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or a related field preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required with at least three (3) years’ experience working with children and families. Hourly wage: $18.31

Substitute Teacher

Location/s: Open to all service areas

Description: School year positions, 40-hrs./wk. M-F. Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field with equivalent credit hours to a major in Early Childhood Education and one year experience teaching preschool children preferred, associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with equivalent credit hours to a major in Early Childhood Education and one year experience teaching preschool children required. Must be at least 21. Hourly wage range: $22.11-$25.85.

Substitute Teacher Assistant

Location/s: Open to all service areas

Description: School year positions, 40-hrs./wk. M-F. High school diploma or equivalent and possess a preschool CDA or meet all requirements to submit an application to obtain a preschool CDA within 12 weeks of hire. Must be at least 19. Hourly wage: $17.03-$18.00.

Substitute Classroom Aide

Location/s: Open to all service areas

Description: School year positions, 40-hrs./wk. M-F. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be at least 18. Experience working with preschool-age children preferred. Hourly wage: $15.50.

Substitute Bus Drivers

Location/s: Open to all service areas

Description: School year positions. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have a CDL school bus license or be able to obtain a school bus eligibility receipt from the Secretary of State driver's license facility by which to obtain a CDL school bus license. Must be at least 21. Hourly wage: $17.03.

Dispatch/Driver

Location/s: Effingham, IL

Description: C.E.F.S. Central Illinois Public Transit/Effingham Public Transportation is hiring a full-time
Dispatcher/Driver with a base of operations in Effingham. Dispatch responsibilities include scheduling
transportation requests, coordinating/monitoring daily routes, management of contract routes,
vehicle and driver assignments, maintaining communications with drivers and operations, validation of
daily trip sheets, and ensuring accuracy of records. Driver responsibilities include serving the public
transportation needs with care to ensure the safety of the customers and vehicles, and providing
exceptional customer service. Preferred candidates should possess strong computer skills, customer service aptitude, numerical and analytical skills, ability to think creatively, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills. Position is Monday through Friday. Must be willing to obtain a CDL with a passenger endorsement. High School diploma or equivalent is required. Hourly wage: $18.03/hr.

​Maintenance Technician

Location/s: Shelbyville, IL

Description: Maintenance Technician needed for Central Illinois Public Transit at the maintenance facility in Shelbyville. The primary function of this position is to provide basic repairs, diagnostics, and
preventative maintenance to a variety of public transit vehicles and related equipment. Candidates, at
minimum, should possess experience which has led to the requisite skills and knowledge needed to
perform the above-mentioned duties. An associate degree in automotive technology, vocational
education, or related field is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent and a valid Class D license
required. The position is full-time Monday through Friday 8:30 am-4:30 pm; however, part-time positions will be considered. C.E.F.S. is a drug-free workplace and applicants must pass pre-employment requirements including a pre-employment drug test. Hourly wage: $23.90/hr.

​Full-time Public Transit Drivers

Location/s: Effingham and Fayette counties

Description: No experience needed, will train. Benefits for full-time drivers include health, dental, vision, vacation, flex, and sick time, life insurance, paid holidays, 403(b)  tax-deferred annuity plan, and a new hire incentive up to $1,000. Candidates must have a High School diploma or equivalent and a valid Class D license. C.E.F.S. is a drug-free workplace and applicants must pass a pre-employment screening including a pre-employment drug test. Must be willing to obtain CDL during employment with agency-provided training and support. Hourly wage: $17.03​​

​Substitute Public Transit Drivers

Location/s: Christian, Clay, Effingham, Fayette, Montgomery, Moultrie, and Shelby counties

Description: Not interested in full or part-time, being a SUBSTITUTE DRIVER might be right for you! Choose the assignments you wish to accept; all we ask is that you are willing to work a minimum of 3 days per month. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid Class D license. Must be willing to obtain CDL during employment with agency-provided training and support. Hourly wage: $17.03
